Bridge: Bridging the Gap Between Research and Practice
An Examination of a Model for Linking Research to Practice for Students with High Incidence Disabilities in Reading.
The Bridge project is an ongoing study to design, implement, and document a professional development process through which teachers can learn and apply research-based reading practices for students with reading difficulties. The current research study intends to continue fulfilling the goal by: (a) conducting an intervention study to examine the effects of a research-based comprehension practice on comprehension of students with learning disabilities; and (b) continuing efforts to disseminate findings from the research through articles, conference presentations, and our Web site.
