Online Teacher Reading Academies

Collaborate

RT3 is bringing Texas teachers together to talk about what’s important to them. RT3 has two varieties of discussion forums. The Communities of Practice are topic-focused forums on specific reading issues. Here, members can share classroom experiences and lesson plans, receive peer and expert feedback, and see what other teachers across the state are doing in their classrooms. Shared materials undergo a review process and then go into the community library. The other forums are informal meeting places where teachers from all over the state can build relationships by exchanging ideas about topics of their choice.

Learn

RT3’s Communities of Practice focus on Texas Teacher Reading Academy topics. In addition to providing a place for discussion, these communities offer full access to the research-based Academy content.

Topics include:

  • Phonemic Awareness
  • Phonics and Word Study
  • Fluency
  • Vocabulary
  • Comprehension
  • Spelling and Writing
  • and many more

Find

Simple and advanced searching provides rapid access to the wealth of reference materials, classroom masters, research articles, state documents, Teacher Reading Academy content, and teacher-written lesson plans and classroom stories in RT3’s library. This ever-growing collection of information is an invaluable resource for both new and experienced teachers. “My Library,” a ‘book bag’ of items found in the library, is a personalized collection of materials that is instantly available anywhere within the RT3 community.

Ask

Questions are a driving force behind RT3. Community members with challenging questions are encouraged to ask for expert help. These questions are routed to reading experts in universities and state agencies, and responses are shared with everyone and made part of the community library.
